Gautschfeier 2023

Gott grüß‘ die Kunst! 
Every year, newly qualified journeymen and -women in the printing trade and related professions are traditionally ‘baptised with water’ at Trier's Kornmarkt. During this humid and cheerful custom, the graduates of the media technology and media design professions are washed out of their apprenticeships. Only after this ceremony do they receive their ‘Gautschbrief’ and are thus, according to tradition, fully-fledged members of the printing trade.
